Privacy Policy for TapCheck

1. Introduction

Welcome to TapCheck, an application by Software101. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and disclose information about you when you use our mobile application (“App”).

Our App is designed with your privacy in mind. While core features are available without an account, we use Firebase Authentication to create an account for users who purchase a subscription, allowing them to use their premium features across multiple devices (iOS and Android).

2. Information We Collect

We collect very limited information. What we collect depends on how you use the App.

Information You Provide Directly:

NFC Tag Data: When you create an NFC tag, you provide information to be written onto it, such as a name for the location/item (e.g., “Room 201”), a checklist of tasks, and, for premium users, a pre-defined recipient email address.
Report Content: When you perform a checklist task, you generate a report which may contain your ratings, notes, and photos. This information is processed on your device and deleted after sharing.

Information for Subscription Holders:

Account Information: To allow you to use your subscription across multiple devices, we use Firebase Authentication. When you subscribe, an account is created. Firebase stores an authentication identifier (such as your email address or a unique user ID) to recognize you. This account is used exclusively to sync your subscription status. No other personal information or app usage data is connected to your account.

3. Analytics Data

To help us improve the App, we use third-party analytics services, specifically Firebase Analytics. These services collect anonymous data about how you use the App, such as which features are used most often, session duration, and crash reports. This data is aggregated, does not contain any personally identifiable information, and is not connected to your account.

4. In-App Purchases

The App offers premium features available via in-app purchase. All payments are processed securely through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We do not collect, receive, or store any of your payment information. This is managed exclusively by the respective platform. Your subscription status is linked to your TapCheck account to enable cross-device access.

5. How We Use Your Information

The data handled by the App is used solely to provide its core functionality and manage subscriptions:

To write data onto NFC tags.
To read data from NFC tags to display checklists.
To compile a report on your device (which is deleted after sharing).
To facilitate sharing reports through your device’s native capabilities.
To manage your account and sync your subscription status across your devices.

We do not sell or rent your information. Sharing is limited to the following:

You Control Report Sharing: The reports you generate are shared only when you decide to send them to a recipient of your choice.
Service Providers: We share the anonymous, aggregated data with Firebase Analytics to help us improve the app. Your account information is managed by Google (as part of Firebase Authentication) for the sole purpose of syncing your subscription.

7. Data Storage and Security

NFC Tags: Information is stored directly on the NFC tag itself.
On-Device Storage: Report content is deleted from your device immediately after you share the report.
Account Information: Your authentication information is stored securely within the Firebase platform, managed by Google.

8. Account Deletion

You can request the deletion of your TapCheck account at any time. To do so, please send an email to tapcheck@software101.nl with your request. Upon receiving your request, we will delete the account information associated with your subscription from the Firebase system.

9. Children’s Privacy

The App is intended for business and professional use and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy within the App or on our website.
